About Me

I want to help you share beautiful stories with the people you love.

I’m Claire Sorrenson. I believe that each of us has a story that others can learn from, and I’m on a mission to help those stories get told.

I founded Celebration Stories in response to a problem: everyday life doesn’t give us many chances to tell the people we love just how much they mean to us. I wanted to help people share with their loved ones exactly what I would like to hear:

You matter.

You make the world a better place.

You are loved.

Here’s why.

Each Celebration Story lets me spend time doing what I love: crafting unique stories that get to the heart of who a person is. I have fun collaborating with my clients to realize their vision, gathering memories from their friends and family, and working with my artistic partner, Ian Harwood, to come up with the perfect illustrations to accompany each book. I love this work because it’s rewarding for everyone involved—read for yourself what it’s like to commission or receive a Celebration Story. I also run a blog, where every month I share in-depth interviews about meaningful relationships.

I’ve been telling stories my whole life. I graduated from Duke University in 2013 and worked crafting compelling stories as a communications associate for a nonprofit in San Francisco. Later, I learned how to ask good questions and practice empathy as a case manager for women struggling with addiction and homelessness. Now, I’m living my dream by telling meaningful stories that bring beauty into the world. I’d be honored to help you share your stories with your loved ones.
